The 1988 IGRA followed a landmark ruling by The U.S. Supreme Court just the prior year. Since that instance, 23 of the thirty nine American Indian tribes of Oklahoma have opened gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the 1st Oklahoma American Indian tribes to take advantage of the gaming rules, and today operate ten casinos of their own. Bingo is the game on which the above-mentioned casinos were built on. digital games such as slot machines were not allowed, due to the fact that they’re thought to contribute to gambling addiction more than bingo.
In recent years, Oklahoma law has altered to allow for massive Native gaming casinos. You will now see Native gambling dens with slots, video poker and 21 tables. Craps and roulette are not yet allowed in the Amerindian casinos as of yet, but this is only a matter of time. Nobody can say whether having different gambling den games in the bingo parlors will do for the appeal of bingo.
